Love at first sight. Love Birds. Chemical Attraction. Its like being at the disco, and meeting your match. All this happening while doing some photo work at Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester MA about using people in pictures to add personality to a photo for creating interest.
Yet there is more personality in these shots, together or as stand alones, with Sea Gulls behaving much like people. These gulls seem to be checking each other out. A look, a closer look and they walk away together. Their eyes do the talking and the series tells the whole story. The gulls are more visually open about their feelings than are most people in public. And its a "Hollywood" type of story with what appears to be a happy ending.
Its out of scope for my usual Framed Prints Collection but the three shots are being offered as a Triptych, meaning "three-layered" in Greek. The three images tell the story that in a sense its a mini-photo essay with a beginning, middle and end. Certain Sea Gull habits, trash picking for example, has always given them a bad reputation. But adding a human side, opens the door to a new appreciation for nature's most common sea bird.
