Happy New Year

Updated: Dec 31, 2025

New Years Resolutions go back 4000 years to the Babylonians. Their New Year was timed with agricultural cycles and was a 12-day festival in March called Akitu. Linking the New Year to the solar year, Julius Caesar shifted it to January in 45 BC. January is named after their god Janus, a two-headed figure looking to the past and the future.
