A Quick Getaway

Sometimes you need to go with the flow. We had planned a weekend in Mid-May to take a break, and to shoot some new images. The Berkshires are relatively close to Boston but virtually unexplored from our perspective. Onward we went with the idea if we liked the area we would take a longer trip. A roadside stop at a scenic vista delivered an unexpected image, flowing wild flowers and all.

What we found was the Berkshires had a feeling similar to southern Vermont. It makes sense as the Berkshires lead into the Green Mountains, both of which are sub-ranges of the Appalachian Mountains. Located in eastern North American the Appalachians are just over 2000 miles long running from central Alabama in the US to the island of Newfoundland in Canada.

For the day and half we spent in the area, we focused on  Lenox and Stockbridge. Both are known for their culture and with a great mix of nature and art inspire creativity. The above art was all in a stretch of galleries right in the heart of Lenox. Happy we made the trip. I think we will be heading back to do a little more exploring.
