Nubble Light

Nubble Light is about an hour drive and a popular photo spot. Typically, its not my style but we were in the area and I have been wanting to check it out. Our day in the sun turned out to be a dog as it had been raining for about a week. Some of the shots had raindrops on the lenses, As disappointing as the shoot was it became a challenge to get a least a shot or two out of it. A little fog, a little sepia and type and there you have it.
Nubble Light was built in 1879 and stands on Cape Neddick jutting in to the Atlantic at York Maine. The 41 foot lighthouse stands 88 feet about sea level. The lighthouse was automated in 1987 and is unmanned. Because of its accessibility, about 100 yards offshore from a small parking lot, Nubble Light is one of the most photographed light houses in the country.
Although not the most productive day I am glad we went. No doubt we will visit it again as the lighthouse has a lot of personality. This time we had to work to make it work. Hopefully the next time will have a better yield.
