New photo of the President George Washington Statue in Boston's Public Garden displaying Washington in his middle age full of fight, strength and leadership. Sculpted by a Charlestown native Thomas Ball, the statue was commissioned in 1859 but delayed until its unveiling in 1869 due to a bronze shortage in America's Civil War. It's sword is now a fiberglass reproduction as the bronze version(s) have been stolen multiple times over the years.
