What we do  is Travel Photography.  The name implies the photographer is dancing around the globe shooting pictures of tourist spots.  There’s some truth to the globe-trotter bit, but Travel Photography is a style.  Travel Photography is without limitations and a mixture of landscape, culture and cityscapes. Photoshoots include tourist spots, architecture, interiors, street scenes and nature.  It’s the things and scenes we see when traveling - abroad or locally at home.

My style is a mix of impressionism and journalism.  Influences by Claude Monet (1840 – 1920), the French Painter, and Walter Cronkite (1916 to 2009), the American Broadcast Journalist.  Both were innovators and trendsetters.  Monet is credited with being a leader in the impressionism movement and his painting, Sunrise, was used by a critic when the name was coined.  Cronkite was for a time “the most trusted man in America” appearing nightly on the CBS evening news.

While impressionism and journalism are not necessarily complimentary their contrasting styles can work together as “artistic journalism”.  Impressionism is subjective and journalism is objective.  But it’s impressionism’s light, motion and texture and event or moment of journalism working together making a shot current, interesting while at the same time dreamy and stylish.  It’s my job to stop the action and add some personality to the image.
